After running a calculation within LightStanza, if there is a space that is larger than 10,000 square feet, LightStanza provides this notification next to the space that says:

"spaces must be below 10,000 ft2 to receive LEED v4 Daylight Credit. Please split this illuminance grid into smaller spaces, each below 10,000 ft2."

I have been scouring the credit language and have not been able to find this requirement anywhere. Where is this requirement listed? Does it make a difference if the illuminance grids are larger than 10,000 ft2?

Thanks for the question Jacob!  This requirement is specified in the full LM-83 documentation (section 2.2.6) containing the complete technical details of the LEED credit requirements.  I have included a screenshot of the relevant language with this post.  Unfortunately this document is not freely available, but can be purchased here.

Please note that this document is being superseded in the coming months with an updated version.  LightStanza will update accordingly when the newest specification is released.
